| If you are really trying to get interesting in re-vamping your body, I would suggest you visit www.bodybuilding.com and even hit up the forums. I swear to you guys, I tried trying to individually research various topics by myself, but that site is really amazing because it assembled all the information for us, plus you learn quite alot. | |

I stay away from bodybuilding.com--way too much ads and BS to sift through. The good articles are evenly mixed in with a terrible one, so it takes too much time to sort the crap from the good stuff.

| There s nothing wrong with supplements. If you have a perfect diet, then if you are aiming for decent results, then training without supplements is fine.
However, many people want superior and/or faster results, and/or cannot maintain a perfect diet.

Which supplements would these be? Nothing comes to my mind, if they are common supplements taken at recommended doses by generally healthy people.

| anything through your body goes through your kidneys... which filters the shit outta your body. lots of supplements contain added coloring and chemicals when separated to their base components, become very volatile.. they have been watered down to be processed by the kidneys, but it is still harmful.. | |

Added coloring is hardly restricted to supplements. In fact, a quick review of Biotest's supps shows that of the 24 supplements they sell, exactly two have colorings. Coloring is much more common in other food products like gum, candy, ice cream, etc. Now, do you have any idea of what you're talking about, or are you just talking out of your ass?

There are no regulations that guarantee the safety or purity of something sold as a supplement. This is what i got from that website.. I don't see this as in any way supporting you claim that supplements cause kidney damage. I certainly didn't suggest that every supplement was safe either. I believe that supplements should only be taken, as I said previously if they want "superior and/or faster results, and/or cannot maintain a perfect diet", and then I tend to only take those protein products that are recommended by a health professional I trust, from a supplement company I trust. There is absolutely no grounds for a flat dismissal of all supplements. Supplements can serve a valuable purpose.

| There's is a very simple way for us to agree. Either
1) You produce evidence to support your claim that all supplements are unnecessary and dangerous or
2) You retract your claim and admit you don't know what you're talking about, or misspoke initially.

I'm a Sport Medicine Student and passed a proctored Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA...so do you want to compare laurels or what? The thread doesn't need to be closed, but if you want to stop posting in it, that's cool. I think you've already pretty much realized you're wrong, so that would probably be the best way to exit gracefully. As it stands, I think the thread is fairly informative. As for me being argumentative, I only become so when I think someone is talking out of their ass. So why are you being so avoidant? All I'm asking for is evidence to support what you've been saying. Tell, you what, I'll even give you a hand. Here are two lists of supplements. I highly regard both Biotest (first list) and John Berardi (second list) for their credibility as a company and as a nutrition coach. If you can find any evidence of unsafe ingredients in any of these supplements, let me know. https://www.t-nation.com/onlineStore.jsphttp://www.johnberardi.com/articles/reviews/supplements.htm?submit=JB+Approved+Supplements&id=459244
