I came up with this a couple of weeks ago and have been out testing it out. It's pretty direct/full on and I'm sure you old-pros will spot some flaws in it but going from the reactions I've been getting I like it a lot.
"hey, I've got something for you"
"What.."
"This" Take out a cigarette paper
They look at me like I'm mad/an idiot/where the feck is he going with this?
"it's a magic rizla, look"
I then light it, there's a flash of light and it turns into a rose.
I know giving flowers is usually an act of chumpery but this is a small rose that is more of a trinket. They put them in their hair, or pin them to there clothes or just hold unto it for the rest of the night like it's the key to heaven.
Magic tricks can often work against you. A lot of magicians try longer tricks on girls and end up being viewed as a trick monkey or it becomes blatant that their talent is making up for a lack of charisma. I like this as it's quick but really impressive and immediately makes you different from every other person there. You can do it and go straight into a conversation.
The start of it (pretending you're giving them a cigarette paper) has two purposes. Firstly, it's a bit of a neg. You're basically saying, this is what I think you're worth. It also provides a great contrast to what follows.
The reactions are priceless. Eyes widen, hands on your arm, turn away from their friends immediately. Even funnier is if there are some alpha males in the group. They just look beaten and depressed! Sometimes they (the AMs) say "do that again" and you can go "Aww, bless, he wants a rose, too. He's feeling all left out"
