Larockstar, im gonna tell you what you need to hear, not what you wana hear...
Your in grad school now, its nothing like college. The people are serious, most of them are going to be working professionals.
On top of that, your going to be BUSY. This is serious, the BIG SHOW. My old roomates all went to grad school...they spent EVERY weekend inside studying...because if they didnt there was no way theyd pass, not because they werent smart...but bc the topics are advanced and the proffessors expect you to learn alot, fast.
Grad students go out once or twice a semester...the night after midterms and the night after finals.
Your not there to make friends or party, your there to seriously pursue above and byond the status qoe.
Having said that, make friends and use the resources around you. Goto the library, sign up for a intermural sport or activity, etc. However dont expect it to be an extension of the "College Experience", youll be sorely dissapointed.
As Ritch pointed out, you dont HAVE to goto campus so you can be more adventerous when you do go.
